Sandria Hu

Xalapa, 2005

Screenprint

10 x 12 in

Edition of 32

Sandria Hu lives and works in Houston, Texas. She is a professor of Arts for Human Science and Humanities at the University of Houston. Her primary medium is painting, but she is proficient in printmaking, as well; she received the James D. Phelan Award in Printmaking in 1991. Hu is also a recipient of a Mid-America Arts Alliance Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Senior Fulbright Scholarship, and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. Her print for Serie is a delicate, textural image, combining pattern and muted colors to create an elegant close-up of objects.
