Michael Velliquette was born in Sandusky, OH in 1971. He has a BFA from Florida State University and a MFA from the University of Wisconsin. He currently lives and works in Madison, WI. He is best known for his cut paper three-dimensional collages. His works are about transforming conventional craft or building materials into spectacle objects. They are an exploration of the relationship between emotions and visual cues that we perceive in design as well as being concerned with the dynamics of familiarity and otherness.
