Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1955, Rubén Miranda started his formal fine art work in 1971 while completing his BA in Education. His background includes printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture. He received his MFA from Florida State University in Tallahassee in 1981. In his work, the human figure embodies what life is all about; it is the symbolic image of existence.
