Candace Briceño studied in Castiglione, Italy where she became fascinated with designs, patterns, and altar pieces. Initially, her main body of work took the form of collage pieces. Her print The Heart's Altar is a duplication of an image from one of her original paintings, and uses an organic flower as a symbol of something "cherished." Currently she uses acrylics and natural objects as centerpieces situated on wood panels. Briceño has a BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and teaches art to elementary students.
