A self-taught artist born in Austin, Jose Treviño creates in a variety of media including oil, watercolor, acrylic, wood, clay, and stone. For 18 years he worked as a part-time instructor for the Fine Arts Department of Austin Community College. In 1976, he began illustrating for the Region XII Bilingual Program, as well as assisting in the development of a children's curriculum. He has exhibited in Texas, California, and Mexico.
