Born in Havana, Cuba, Lillian Garcia-Roig received her BFA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and her MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been an Assistant Professor of Studio Art at the University of Texas at Austin since 1991, and is a recipient of numerous awards and scholarships including the Mid-America Arts Alliance/National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship Award for Painting in 1994.
