A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BFA, Chemo Ornelas has been commissioned to work on many special projects in Texas. Combining acrylics with pastels, and using strong geometric patterns of light and dark, his style is easily recognizable. His work has been exhibited in San Antonio and Laredo, and has been purchased by numerous private and corporate collections. "I like to be free of rule and restraint in my paintings. Repetition is an important characteristic of my work - one subject is repeated many times, sometimes with slight variations. I become totally and deeply involved in the six to eight weeks it takes to complete a painting."
