Of Portuguese and American heritage, Austin artist Marc Silva finds inspiration in the crossroads of his seemingly disparate interests. Bridging the gap between art and archaeology, mathematics and mythology, Silva's work meshes theological and architectural symbols of different cultures to suggest a common thread. Born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1967, Silva moved to the United States at age eight. He received a BS in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin and then began to pursue his interest in art through classes at U.T. and Austin Community College. Marc Silva currently serves as Gallery Manager for the Artists' Coalition of Austin's ACA Gallery.
