A professor of art at the University of North Texas in Denton, artist Annette Lawrence earned her B.F.A. at the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford in West Hartford CT and her M.F.A. from the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Of her work Lawrence says, "I am increasingly interested in the relationship between writing and drawing. I am fascinated by language and its inherent ability to form images. The delineation between what is considered text and what is considered code is a topic I address conceptually in my work."
