Brownsville artist Carlos Gomez earned his B.F.A. from Pan American University and his M.F.A. at Washington State University. Gomez refers to his style of work as "Social Abstract Surrealism" and describes this print as a "young bird symbolic of children's desperation in a world with uncertain outcomes. In this case, one left all alone, and his llanto never to be heard by any one except him."
