Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and now residing in Galveston, Texas, artist Eric Avery is also known for his printmaking and handmade paper. Avery has redefined "wallpaper" in that the paper assumes an almost voracious physicality. With the use of various printmaking methods, he embeds hundreds of sheets of heavily textured paper - handmade, and in some cases, three-dimensionally cast - with icons and mesmerizing patterns.
