Born in Mexico City and now residing in Austin, Texas, Cecilia Calderon works primarily in glass. Calderon earned her bachelor's degree in graphic design at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana in her native Mexico City. She went on to pursue her studies in stained glass in Toronto, Canada as well as non-ferrous metal sculpture in Austin, Texas. Calderon describes this print as depicting the stages of her life. "The base is all my graphic art training, my up-bringing, with its social and family bindings. Then, the gray long and winding search for self, and finally the parts of myself that have flourished with all the other possibilities."
