Born in Playa de Ponce, Puerto Rico and now residing in New York City, artist Diogenes Ballester is attuned to the spiritual process of painting as an integral part of his experiences and work as an artist. Ballester observes that this allows him to create a chromatic and rich surface to cohere with the beauty and lyricism of a meaningful image. Ballester earned his B.F.A. from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce, Puerto Rico and went on later to receive his M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
