Austin resident Jill Bedgood earned her B.F.A. from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge and her M.F.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. A recipient of numerous grants and fellowships, Bedgood has also completed public art commissions for the City of Austin's Art in Public Places, as well as exhibiting in museums and alternative spaces in the United States. Speaking of this image, Bedgood says she is "integrating the formal, or minimal image, of the centralized oval, or wound, with the multiples of the birds, referencing the order of 'good' juxtaposed with that which is excessive, or 'evil.'
