Sponsor Serie Project Art

Sponsoring an artist is a timeless act of unifying the interpretive patron with the creative artist—a position of great importance for advancing the arts. The Serie Project and its affiliated establishment, Coronado Studio, are committed to continue providing artists and patrons with the best possible creative process by encouraging sponsorship through the organizations’ mission:

The mission of the Serie Project is to produce, promote, and exhibit the work of Latino artists and others, and to make the production and sale of prints affordable for both artist and patron.

Coronado Studio’s mission is to provide an opportunity for artists to experience serigraphy as a fine art medium: the goal is to print in a workshop environment that allows artists to produce prints affordably by providing them space, equipment, supplies, and master printers to produce screen prints as posters or fine art.

Each year, approximately 15 artists are invited to Coronado Studio to be a part of the Serie Project. The studio—only one of a handful of Latino-based print studios in the country—helps an artist create an edition of 50 signed and numbered prints made with the guidance of a master serigraph printer. Each print is hand-pulled, making it as original as an individual painting.

The cost of sponsoring an artist starts at $1,800, which covers the costs of the printer, papers, inks, and use of Coronado Studio’s facilities. Once an edition of prints is complete, the artist and the Studio each retain 20 prints, while a sponsor is entitled to 10, respectively. The potential gross income from the sale of prints is well worth the costs of sponsoring an artist of your choice.

Currently, the Serie Project operates on a budget comprised of 25% from sales or donations and 75% from local and national grants. Covering an artist’s most fundamental needs, our current methods of securing funds through grants is exceedingly unstable from year to year.

To continue providing an outlet for unknown and established Latino artists, sponsorship is a vital component of sustaining organizations like ours. A sponsorship works much the way a commission does: a sponsor covers the costs of completing an edition of prints, and in return, will receive 10 prints to give to family, friends, or clients.

Designed to enrich the culture of Austin and central Texas, Coronado Studio and the Serie Project, Inc. are committed to advancing the arts.
